Big Read 2012

The 2012 Big Read is here!

The Oceanside Public Library has begun its month-long series of programs focused on and inspired by Zora Neale Hurston’s novel Their Eyes Were Watching God. The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library are proud to join with the Oceanside Public Library Foundation and other community groups to support the Library’s Big Read program. Please see the library’s Big Read page for details of events happening throughout Oceanside during the month of February.

Primary funding for the Big Read is provided by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, with contributions for additional programming provided by the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library and the Oceanside Public Library Foundation. Additional support is generously provided by many other community partners.

Book Sale: Feb 11

The Friends will be having a book sale fundraiser on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 10 am to 4 pm. The sale will take place outside the Friends’ sorting room at 602 Civic Center Drive. Literary Tour Cancelled

Due to a lack of interest, the Friends Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel the planned Louisa May Alcott literary tour to New England. The Friends are open to organizing similar programs and tours in the future if community members and supporters remain interested.
