Founded in 1971 as a non-profit organization, the mission of the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library is to support and promote the services and resources of the Oceanside Public Library through community involvement, volunteer activities and fundraising. The organization maintains a membership of persons interested in the library, sponsors special programs and cultural events for both children and adults, and works to enhance the library’s collection and facilities.

Bookstore Volunteers Needed
The Friends have an immediate need for volunteers to provide sales and customer service support at both the Civic Center and Mission Branch Bookstores. There are available shifts that need to be filled or interested parties can just serve as subs. New volunteers may begin working once their background and fingerprint checks have been cleared through the City’s Human Resources Department. If you can help, please call Cheri Noel at 760-435-5564.
